Get-a-map is a free mapping service from Ordnance Survey. You can search for maps anywhere in the UK simply by entering the place name, full postcode or National Grid reference – and print the maps or copy them for use on your personal or business web site (with some restrictions).
By using this service you are deemed to have agreed to the Get-A-Map terms and conditions.
Do you know your National Grid reference? Discover what it is, along with other frequently asked questions in our Get–a–map Help & FAQs.
I find this service really useful for locating marshal points for local motor club rallies, without having to invest in maps that I don’t have or need on a regular basis.
Why not not try it for yourself, HERE…

Following the departure of Peugeot, Mitsubishi and Skoda from the World Rally Championship at the end of last season, it is encouraging to see Suzuki release the first picture of their SX4 WRC ‘concept’ car, which will go on display at the Geneva Motorsport Show in late February.
In times when the rally scene look a bit sad, if this has half the spectator value of the recent Ignis/S1600 cars, then the sooner it reaches the stages the better.
Don’t you just love those screaming engines?

An F1 car for the road. the 1,000bhp/tonne 2-seat Freestream T1 sportscar.
Ben Scott-Geddes and Graham Halsted, Freestream's founders, worked on the McLaren F1 supercar project. They have now designed this stunning £150,000 road and track car with an all-in weight of 465kg, plus 480bhp from a 2.4-litre V8 F1-spec engine.
Already a year in development, they want acceleration to 60mph in under 2.5 seconds, cornering capability of 3G and top-line safety from the "uncompromised" new model. Watch out for more details which will be released later this year.

This soon to be available (USA first, then maybe Europe) device from DriveSync provides you with off-line GPS tracking of your vehicle, (record and download rather than read-time) allowing you to see when, where, and how it has been driven.
According to the blurb the data is tracked passively and stored in a USB key that plugs into the receiver unit. It then detaches to allow you to read it in a web browser on your home computer via a DriveSync server. The data gets interpreted, and reports are generated including trip logs and usage alerts. The honesty assessment of the “Doing 30mph really Dad!” statements then become a thing of the past, during those meaningful and rewarding teenager bonding conversations.
Many will say its an invasion of privacy, but think of it as a preventive measure. Knowing it’s there means any driver might actually think before doing something stupid. From my point of view, I want my offspring stay alive and to drive carefully so they can look after me in my old age.
By that I mean I hope others as well as me might also consider using the device to protect their loved ones. It’s often not what you do that causes accidents, but the actions of others. This thing might also help in the investigation of accidents, so insurance companies might get interested in having it fitted. We will see!

When I get confused about life, I think about cars, just like the ones here at allcarnews.com then the pain goes away and all becomes crystal clear.
No kids, no wife, good job = “Happy days and fast cars”. Whoops, I can feel the icepick in my back now.
